Media extenders seem to be the in-thing at this years Consumer Electronics Show (CES). MediaGate can be added to the list of Apple iTV competitors as it has now announced it will be launching the MG-350HD, MG-35 and MG-25P media extenders in the US.MG-350HD entertainment server

- Outputs in NTSC and PAL
- Onboard Ethernet / WiFi
- USB 2.0
- Stereo and digital audio outputs
- DVI, S-Video, composite, and component
- Supports HD streaming and a huge number of video formats including MPEG1/2/3/4, AVI, M2V, DAT, VOD and XviD

MG-35
- Same as the MG-350HD but lacks WiFi and has Ximeta NDAS technology.

MG-25P
- Same functionality as MG-350HD but:
- Only has room for a 2.5 inch hard drive
- Lacks a DVI out / WiFi
- Has a more solid case for "bumpy" storage environments such as a vehicle or shirt pocket
- Acts as "instant network storage" when you're done dishing out media

The media extenders do not include a hard drive so its up to you what you stick inside them.
