Just before Christmas it was announced that the HD DVD protection had been cracked. This supposedly would allow you to backup and copy HD DVDs and the guy who wrote the crack posted a video of it working on YouTube. Unfortunately it's a bit too soon to say that HD DVD protection has been cracked because in order to backup/copy the HD DVDs you need access to Title Key which is almost impossible to get at this stage. How this hacker got the Title Key for the HD DVD he hacked is unknown and he would not say.
To put it simply if you thought you were going to be copying your HD DVDs then you won't be doing it just yet.
