Top 10 home entertainment devices for December - Sony Hybrid PVR sales increase

Running up to Christmas I have just received the Top 10 selling products for the past month from Sound and Vision, a UK online electronics store:

Toshiba 32WLT66 – LCD TV
Sony KDL-40W2000U – LCD TV
Sony KDL-32U2000U – LCD TV
Sony RDR-HXD860 - Hard drive/DVD recorder with Freeview and HDMI output
Toshiba 37WLT66 – LCD TV
Panasonic DMR-EZ25 – DVD Recorder
LG 37LC2D – LCD TV
Hitachi 26LD6600 – LCD TV
Toshiba 42WLT66 – LCD TV
Toshiba 32WL66 – LCD TV

As with the last top 10 it is once again it is dominated by those big LCD TVs, but interestingly the Sony RDR-HXD860 has gained a few places and is now in at number 4. The Sony RDR-HXD8 is a hybrid DVD recorder and PVR featuring a 80GB hard drive, Freeview tuner and HDMI connectivity.

Walking around the shops yesterday afternoon it is clear to me that us Brits are quite reluctant to let go of traditional recording devices. Shops are predominately stocked with DVD recorders and hybrid VCR/DVD recorders, and when it comes to the top selling PVR recorder it is packed with a DVD recorder too.
