Making an iPod into a home media hub

DLO Homedock ProDigital Lifestyle Outfitters is launching HomeDock Pro, the first in its line of HomeDock systems that lets you watch iPod videos on your TV screen. Earlier versions of the HomeDock let you connect an iPod to a TV for browsing through and listening to music through a television with a remote control.

The addition of video means that you can basically treat an iPod like a pre-release, non-wireless iTV. Download all the shows you want to your PC from iTunes or wherever it is you download your shows from, load them up onto an iPod and carry them over to the living room.

There's no word on whether the HomeDock Pro supports the 640 x 480 resolution that iTunes videos come in these days. There's also no word on pricing, although the HomeDock Deluxe (without video support) goes for $150, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the Pro will cost a bit more than that.

It's compatible with all dockable, click wheel iPods, including the nano, video iPod, 4G iPod, and iPod mini.
