Remember one of the reasons you liked your TiVo in the first place because you could fast forward through adverts on recorded shows? Remember a few years ago how advert free the TiVo interface was?Well now the TiVo interface is a lot more advertisement heavy and to add to it a little bit more TiVo will now be asking you if you would like to watch an advert while you delete recordings off your hard drive.
I'm not against adverts by any means but something seems to be wrong here. People are already paying a monthly subscription to TiVo so why do you have to see extra adverts too.
I know advertisers are a little worried that time-shifting is damaging their advertising returns but research has shown only a small percentage of TV is time shifted and even then adverts still have some effect.
I could cope with this trend if it ended up with more adverts on our PVR interfaces if it resulted in fewer and smaller commercial breaks in TV shows but I don't see this happening either.
