I mentioned a few days ago how you could use the Xbox 360 as a media extender and watch videos from your PC over a home connection on your living TV using the Xbox 360.
Unfortunately the Xbox 360 will only play WMV files which means you could end up converting your whole movie collection to WMV format.
But what if you could transcode and stream your non WMV videos on the fly. That would mean you could watch any video on your PC on TV using your Xbox.
Well such a thing is possible using the Transcode360 software which can also be used with other media extender devices too. It converts non WMV videos into the WMV format faster than real time allowing you to watch them seamlessly via your Xbox.
The only downside is that you have to be using Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 to run the software. But don't worry if you don't have MCE because you can still use TVersity instead to transcode DivX videos to watch on TV using your Xbox.
