WebGuide4 adds lives TV streaming

Once upon a time Microsoft was working on a rumored Windows Media Center Edition feature called "softsled." Essentially the SoftSled would allow multi-room viewing by letting you pull up the media center interface on any computer connected to your home network. SoftSled was never released.

Orb provides users with a chance to stream video through the internet, letting you watch programs recorded on your media center PC on another computer. You can even use it to watch live TV and to schedule recordings. But it isn't integrated with MCE.

Now Doug Berrett has come one step closer to a SoftSled-like service. He's added live TV streaming to WebGuide4 for Windows Media Center Edition. Now you can schedule recordings and watch programs from any PC with a web browser. You can also access the program guide or stream TV to a Pocket PC or smartphone.

You can download the latest version of WebGuide, or read the FAQ on live TV streaming.
