We recently pointed out that a Home Theatre PC (HTPC) can be an expensive option, even if you are building it from scratch. As floppyhead.com has rightly pointed out, much of the expense lies with the tuner cards and the cases. HTPC cases tend to cost more than $150. But if you are on a budget and still want a case that looks worthy of your living room then here are some cases for less than $100, as pointed out by Floppyhead.com (prices from NewEgg).
- nMediaPC HTPC 100 Silver Steel - $99 - This is a microATX case that is rated as being only 38 decibals.
- Antec Fusion - $95 - Being 17.5″ wide, this case would look great with other stereo equipment. It has two internal drive bays for hard drives, and extra storage space is always something that is needed in a HTPC.
- nMediaPC HTPC-200 - $99.99 - This case is also a microATX case, it is recommended that you use a DVD drive that is shorter in length from a manufacturer like Lite-on or Benq, to fit it into this small case.

1. Newegg price for Antec Fusion is $201 including shipping.
