Good friend and fellow blogger Dave Zatz tipped me off that Replay TV PC Edition has finally launched. At the time of writing ReplayTV is yet to make an official announcement, although I expect a press release at anytime.
ReplayTV PC Edition is a piece of PVR software that gives you PVR functionality with your PC when used with a supported TV card. Replay TV intend to re-launch its company as a leading PC PVR software provider after leaving the hardware market in 2005.
However, the $99.95 price tag and additional $19.95 yearly fee will put a lot of people off this PVR software. Replay TV PC Edition also lacks some much needed features:
- Multiple tuner support
- HDTV support
- Not able to stream video to other computers
- Lack of support of a free electronic program guide
1. What's the point. For less money, you can buy a dual-tuner Tivo.
