Microtune's new MT2130 chip is aimed at the mobile market, including notebook computers, portable USB TV tuner sticks, and portable DVD players. The 1/4th inch tuner can receive analog and digital signals from cable and over-the-air broadcast sources. The MT2130 uses 20% less power than its predecessor, the MT2131. I love how the number for the newer model is lower than the older one. Presumably, they've been working on this low-powered chip all along.
The chip supports ATSCT, QAM, DVB-T, ISDB-T, DMB-T, NTSC, PAL, and SECAM standards.
Microtune is targeting this tiny chip at manufacturers of small devices such as TV tuner dongles or multi-tuner cards.
