Okay, now this is just getting silly. First TiVo goes and slashes the after-rebate prices on its 80-hour Series2 TiVos. Then the company goes and futzes with its service rates (most consumers seem to consider this a rate hike, although there are some deals where you would actually pay less under the new plan).
And now TiVo's going and offering free pizza to anyone who gets a new box and signs up for a year's service. Other than the fact that there's overlap between the target audiences for TV and umm... pizza, what's the connection? Well, apparently "Papa John's uses only superior–quality ingredients to make its award-winning pizza. TiVo's award-winning service is chock full of innovative features." Great.
Anyway if you're in the market for a Series2 box and you could use a $20 gift card for Papa John's click on the read link for more details.

1. On what basis do you say that "most consumers seem to consider this a rate hike"?...do you think the vocal few on the Tivo Community Forum really represent "most consumers"?
