It's time for another look at the TiVo top 25 week ending 10/29/2006.
ABC continues to dominate the top three spots with the Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and Lost combination. Previews for next weeks Housewives has me shaking my head in disbelief, much like Lost has me doing on a weekly basis, but somehow I stayed glued to the tube whenever they're playing.
Apparently, next week there will be some type of hostage situation in the Wisteria community. I lived in an apartment complex several years ago and someone attempted to break into my wife's car by breaking her window. That was enough for me to pack up shop.
If I lived somewhere small where there were three to four murders, disappearing neighbors, raping invalids locked in cellars, and now a hostage situation all within a years time, I'd probably consider leaving the country.
It sounds bizarre to say it, but I find a show about superheroes more believable than the nonsense that regularly occur in Housewives and Lost. How does that make any sense?
Which brings us to Heroes, my favorite show of the season finding itself down one spot in this weeks top 10.
Coolest power on the show? Without question, the ability to manipulate time. Lamest power on the show? Without question, the ability to mimic the power of someone in close proximity to you.
That might be okay when you're next to someone with a nifty power, but what happens when you're standing next to Super Flatulence Man? Suddenly it's not so cool.
Comedies and reality shows have taken a backseat to the drama and investigative type genre of shows which is a nice change of pace from a few years back when the reverse seemed to be true. We'll see if that trend returns when the juggernaut that is American Idol Season 6 starts up here in a couple of months.
