I was starting to get worried because TiVo hadn't made any random announcements regarding a partnership with a company in several weeks.
Right on cue, today TiVo announced a partnership with the YWCA, the largest and oldest women's organization in the United States representing more than 1 million women, girls, and their families.
The primary objective of the relationship is to give parents and their children access to quality programming in a hassle-free manner.
The YWCA will be the leading organization in an effort to develop and recommend programs with educational and informational merit for children and presumably several of these shows will be showcased in TiVo's KidZone.
In addition, for a limited time the YWCA will be offering a free 80-hour TiVo Series2 PVR with KidZone assuming the recipient signs up for 1 year of TiVo service at the $12.95 monthly rate. Take the pledge located on this page, and you too can be eligible for this remarkable deal.
TiVo will also be donating $25 for every new subscriber to support the work of the YWCA USA, so know that you're contributing to what some would consider a good cause if you end up getting a TiVo through this deal. (I personally think it's a good cause, but I know some of you think KidZone is el digital diablo).
