The Google acquisition of YouTube has been really big news this week, and as expected it has caused a surge of people to flock over to the YouTube website.
But YouTube is not the only site that has received a traffic surge as a result of the deal. Many people have been visiting Utube.com, a supplier of used tubes and pipes, by mistake.
According to the Alexa Movers and Shakers Utube.com has had a 440% increase in traffic moving from position 21,217 to 3,165. As a result the Utube.com site crashed under the strain of traffic.
This just represents how much extra attention the deal has given YouTube in the past week. YouTube offered Utube.com $1 million for the domain name but they refused, and are holding out for at least $2.5 million.
1. What's great about all these 'sob story' articles about utube, is that it's sending that much more traffic to the site. He needs to sell it to youtube for a chunk of change!
