There are so many YouTube clones that keep appearing online in the explosion of video sharing and user-generated content and amateur video it is difficult to keep track.
However, Blip.tv is erecting its own unique arena in the video sharing industry. In a recent video interview (see below) which took place at the podcast and portable media expo, Dina Kaplan talked to the video technology blog Neo-Fight about what Blip.tv actually does.
Dina outlined that Blip.tv was unique from other video sharing sites like Youtube for the following reasons:
- It focuses on higher quality content so contains more professional online video shows such as Neo-Fight and TreehuggerTV.
- It supports the brand/company that provides the video episode by sending traffic to its own site.
- It shares advertising revenue with the content providers.
- It has a profitable business model that makes money through advertising on site, selling premium spots to content producers and licensing its software to TV networks.
