I'm not sure how often this happens, but apparently the Slingbox A/V we posted on this morning is already available for purchase at Best Buy for $179.99, despite the fact that it hasn't even been formally announced yet.
Dave Zatz of Zatz Not Funny, ran to his local Best Buy in Fairfax, Va on a whim and was surprised to see the units available for sale next to the old Slingboxes.
The packaging makes mention of the other two models that will be available (soon?) called the Slingbox Tuner and Slingbox Pro.
If you refer back to the post from earlier and to the Engadget picture of the box you can determine that the featues available on the three different versions are as follows:
- Widescreen support (16:9) - Tuner, A/V, Pro
- High quality programmable video compression - Tuner, A/V, Pro
- Watch/control from any PC/Mac/laptop - Tuner, A/V, Pro
- Watch recorded TV from select mobile phones - Tuner, A/V, Pro
- TV analog cable tuner - Tuner, Pro
- Pass-through connections for seamless integration into AV configuration - Tuner, Pro
- Connects to set-top box cable, satellite, DVR - A/V, Pro
- Remote control of AV devices - A/V, Pro
- Connect HD component devices - Pro
- Connect & control up to 4 AV devices - Pro
When I said to expect these units to be available soon since the packaging appeared to be complete, I had no idea I was talking today soon.
