Video of the Apple iTV unveiled at Apple's "It's Showtime" event
Apple is really hitting the news at the moment after the recent announcements it made at the "It's Showtime" event yesterday. One announcement that all of us here at PVR Wire are excited about is that of the codenamed Apple iTV.
We talked about the Apple iTV in his coverage of the "It's Showtime" event. The iTV is meant to let you stream video files from your Mac computer to your living room for viewing on your TV. With a little imagination you can see how this could potentially change how we currently watch and pay for TV.
I could write exactly what the Apple iTV does, but why don't you hear it from the horses mouth. Watch the video below with Steve Jobs in yesterdays "It's Showtime" event describing the new iTV box.

1. For PC users this functionality has been available for several years through Windows Media Center and Media Center Extenders (in my house I have 1 HP Extender in my living room, 3 first gen Xboxes with Extender adaptors in bedrooms, and an Xbox 360 serving as a high def extender in family room). They provide not only access to all PC multimedia (pics, music, video, downloaded/rented/purchased movies) but also access to live and recorded TV with full DVR functionality (Media Center can have 4 seperate distinct tuners, 2 analog and 2 high def tuners).
I am sure Apple will do a great job putting out some high quality products in this area but its hardly groundbreaking. You can check out my use of this at http://www.mikeysgblog.com/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=75
