Comcast have been reported to be displaying banner adverts through its PVR devices on the Electronic Program Guide (EPG). This news has come to me from Digg where users are reporting that the adverts are appearing on PVRs in a number of locations in the US. including Florida, Atlanta, and Detroit.
Pictures of the adverts can be seen here.
I very much doubt Comcast users will be very happy with the extra advertisements appearing through their PVRs. One Digg user said they called Comcast and complained, and received a $10 credit, filing a filed the complaint on his behalf.
So, if you are seeing these adverts and are not happy about it then maybe you should give Comcast a call.

I assume all providers will start doing it. Both Cox and Comcast sited TiVo's advertising platform in partnering with them. It's the way of the world in the DVR era - increased product placements and ads on our set-top boxes. All the more reason to Netflix television DVDs.
