The Archos 604, part of the new Archos "04" range which are all based on the same design, received a pretty good review over at CNET. The biggest selling feature of the Archos 604 is its price; at just $350, this powerful PMP is likely to sell well being able to play both video and music in a variety of formats.
However, the low price comes with a downside, to cut costs Archos have put a lot of the technology into peripherals which cost more, such as the DVR Station for recording video from almost any source. You even have to charge the 604 with a USB port unless you buy the $30 docking adapter kit.
I don't see all these extra accessories as such a bad thing if it makes the price lower. It just means if you don't want the added accessories you don't have to pay for them.
A feature of the Archos 604 I especially like is the kick stand; by flicking out the kickstand you can rest the PMP on any flat service and have it tilted at a nice viewing angle -- no more having to hold it up in your hands.
With 30GB of storage, the Archos 604 isn't too bad for a handheld video and music player which costs $350.
Amazingly the 604's big sister, the Archos 504, can have a whopping 160GB of storage. A few more features and you could have yourself a portable TiVo.

1. Functional, beautiful design.. But a price however abandons to wish the best
