A few other blogs have pointed out some new Mac PVR products that have made their way on to the market this week, starting with the TVMax, a Mac Mini-lookalike and the I-O Data GV-1394TV/M3, an analog tuner box.The TVMax looks more appealing on the eye, and features Elgato's eyeTV PVR, with conversion settings for the PSP and iPod. It comes with the Titan TV EPG for U.S.-customers and TVTV for us Europeans, but requires USB to operate.
On the other hand, the I-O Data GV-1394TV/M3 connects via Firewire, has PVR features, and push-button iPod video conversion, but it works smoothly with Apple's iLife, iDVD and iMovie.
Apple fanatics everywhere will be vanishing in a puff of logic, as they deliberate over whether to make a purchase, or hang on until Apple release their own PVR product in time for Christmas this year.

1. The TVMax neatly supports both PAL and NTSC video standards - handy for UK and US usage - but the integrated TV tuner is analogue, so Brits will need to hook up a set-top box if they want to watch Freeview content. That said, the TVMax sports an array of analogue ports to grab video content from DVD players, VCRs, set-top boxes and the like.
