When I signed up for Sky+ almost two years ago, the customer services representative told me that one of the major innovations in the pipeline was the ability to schedule recordings on your Sky+ box by sending an SMS message from your mobile phone (she also told me there would be a web-based facility to do this too).However, neither has appeared, although T3 Magazine is reporting that the SMS service could be on the way within the next month, to be followed by a downloadable mobile phone application which gives a graphical representation of your Sky+ EPG on your cellphone and allows you to schedule recordings.
I'm not sure how often I would use the SMS facility -- I'd be more likely to use the web-based app -- but it would come in handy if I'd forgotten to schedule a recording.
