Warner Brothers to sell video via BitTorrent

Warner Bros.Warner Brothers has thrown its hat into the VOD/PVR/Video download ring with news that it will be selling movie downloads via the Internet in a deal with Bram Cohen's BitTorrent peer-to-peer distribution application.

According to various reports, movie downloads will be available on the same day they are released on DVD, and will include some popular titles such as Harry Potter and Batman.

I've said it before, and I'm obviously not a genius for pointing it out, but the world of home video is going to dramatically change over the next 18 months, and only time will tell if consumers end up suffering due to conflicting standards and delivery methods.
