"Anyone who pays $9.99 for a crappy low res version of a second rate made for TV movie is indeed an
idiot."And so says Thomas Hawk in his recent tirade against Apple's iTunes Music Store and the proposals to flog DRM infested low-res videos to the suckers Apple has persuaded to upgrade from an iPod they probably didn't want, to one they probably don't need.
I really have to agree with one of the bolder statements in Thomas' extensive rant on the subject:
"People don't want low res movies. They want HDTV. HDTV is cool. It looks all fancy like. Low res iTune video looks like crap. And at $9.99 for a bad movie it's expensive crap. While I can appreciate Apple trying to do something here. They are going to need to come out with some kind of a committment [sic] to increase the both the content quality and the picture quality of their programming if they hope to see this work."
One gets the feeling Thomas has cast his line out for the day, and is now reclining in his deckchair with a wide-brim hat pulled down over his laughing face, waiting for all the little Nemos to come biting...

1. Generally, people are idiots. All a company has to do is sell their product right and someone will buy it. Regardless, of how it looks or operates. Look at people who rent or buy Full Screen movies...if they had a brain...they would realize that they are getting ripped off by not getting the "Full Screen". oooh...I hate those black bars on the screen...hello?!
