TiVo announces KidZone service, provides priority sign-up list

As we reported early this morning, TiVo announced its new KidZone program, allowing parents to use their TiVo's to restrict the programming their children can view. This includes live and recorded programming, according to TiVo's release dispatched late this morning. KIdZone also keeps the children's list of recordings separate from the adults' list.

TiVo has created a page on its Web site for the program and has created a priority sign-up list for parents anxious to have the new software installed on their standalone TiVo's (the program doesn't work on the majority of TiVo units, which are packaged with DirecTV's set-top box).
