XML.com has a lengthy article written by Bob DuCharme on how you can put a "TiVoRoll" on your blog that shows what programs you've been recording on your TiVo. It also describes how to create another application that produces an Atom feed -- which is very similar to an RSS feed -- showing which episodes of programs your TiVo has been recording lately. The article is not for the faint of XML heart. Above, you can see a screenshot of a TiVo providing information on the shows it has recorded, but in XML format. If you don't know XML from HTML, you should first read a tutorial on the technology.

Anyhow, after you pull the XML-formatted information from your TIVo, you can convert it to something a little more legible -- and easy to add to your blog (see above screenshot). The application that produces an Atom feed of the Now Playing list of saved programs on the TiVo is very similar to the one that the author used to create his blogroll of TiVo programs. The Atom feeds looks something like this: http://www.snee.com/rss/nowplaying.atom. It can be displayed within any RSS/Atom reader. In fact, this feed really works, showing us the author's recorded programs:
- Daria
- The Colbert Report
- The Daily Show With Jon Stewart
- The Simpsons
- Monty Python's Flying Circus
- I Love Lucy
- Daria
- The Colbert Report
- The Daily Show With Jon Stewart
So there you go. If you can recreate this, let us know. And send us a pointer to your blog so we can where you're listing your TiVo-recorded programming for the whole world to see.

1. I've updated the TiVoRoll scripts so that they work under Windows. Head on over to my website if your are interested.
