According to informitv, Microsoft is denying delay rumors of its Internet protocol television (IPTV) as "patently false." According to a representative of AT&T, quoted in the magazine Television Week, "Microsoft is ready to launch this -- we aren’t talking to other vendors about backup plans."
AT&T recently completed a technical field trial of the Microsoft IPTV solution in the homes of 40 employees in San Antonio, using VDSL with gigabit Ethernet to deliver bandwidth of 20-25Mbps per line, but has yet to demonstrate scalability.
