This could be the killer app for TiVo and the video iPod. TiVo says it's working on software that will let you transfer TV shows recorded on your TiVo to your video iPod. The move expands the reach of TiVo by bringing in new subscribers who want the feature for their iPods. The software will be available for beta testing in the next couple weeks, according to reports. Then it'll be available to TiVo users in the early part of next year, for a fee expected to be between $15 and $30. You won't be able to record tagged video-on-demand or pay-per-view programs.
The software is said to synchronize programs between TiVo and iPods because of the length of time -- up to two hours -- it takes to convert an hour-long program. That way you can wake up with your iPod full of shows from the previous night you want to watch on the train to work.

1. That's pretty cool. i can see a lot of applications for that coming out in the next few years. the only problems i can think of are the incredibly short battery life when u r watching video(although the 60gb isn't as bad)...and the amount of storage space ur gonna be using up while carrying around 30 hours worth of my favorite tv shows? and is there a way to fast forward the commercials on the iPod...or just not record them? i'd hate to record a show and then have to sit throught the commercialls and have no way to fast forward them when i want.
