TiVo-Dish suit paused until 2006

TiVoTiVo is seeking lost royalties and triple damages against direct-broadcast satellite operator Dish Network for allegedly stealing its multimedia time-shifting technology system, which, as PVR Wire readers will know, allows viewers to pause, replay or fast-forward live television.

The lawsuit, against EchoStar Communications Corp., was scheduled to begin to begin on Monday 24 October but has now been delayed until March.

Federal District Court Judge David Folsom said he was delaying the case because the courtroom in Marshall, Texas, was only available for two weeks.
