TiVo has announced the winners of its TiVo Developer Challenge. Here they are:Grand Prize: AudioFaucet. Developed by Kyle Copeland, this app lets anyone control iTunes through TiVo. It displays album art and ratings.
Best music application: Music Monkey. This tests your familiarity with your music library. It was developed by Jeremy Brooks.
Best photo application: Flickr. Developed by Andrew Wallace, Flickr provides an interface to the Web service of the same name. It includes contact lists and tagging functions.
Best game application: NBC Trivia. Courtney Wilson developed this trivia engine that tests your knowledge of trivia from Seinfeld and Friends.
Best information application: Digital Home. It lets you control lights, shades and security cameras through your TiVo. The developer is Sergey Chemishkian.
Most creative application: Galleon. Developed by Leon Nicholls, Galleon is a grab bag of applications. It supports music, photos and Internet radio. It also allows TiVo owners to transfer programs to their computer remotely.
The entries were developed using TiVo's HME Software Development Kit. It's an open platform for applications that run on standalone Series2 TiVo units. You can find more information about this here.
