What better way to begin this new blog on PVRs than by publishing the famous TiVo 30-second hack for skipping commercials? To me, it's a basic TiVo feature and I would find much less value in the gizmo if it weren't there.
So here it is:
1. Play a previously recorded program
2. Press Select
3. Press Play
4. Press Select
5. Press 3
6. Press 0
7. Press Select.
That's it! Now use the small button with the right-hand arrow, located beneath the fast-forward button, to skip those nasty commercials, pushing it once for every 30 seconds you want to jump ahead.
